Delamar West Hartford

West Hartford, CT

A 111-room boutique hotel at Blue Back Square that terminates a major axis to create a new urban room, with restaurant, ballroom, bar, spa, and retail activating the street on three sides.

“It was a pleasure working with Israel on such a critical and complex project for our portfolio. Israel navigated the difficulties of a rather demanding zoning department with his charming manners and well articulated arguments with apparent ease. Israel’s attention to detail and unique ability to configure spaces was a great asset to the success of the project. There were many revisions over the years which Israel handled with unprecedented patience and flexibility. I’m looking forward to working with Israel on our next project.”

The third Delamar property and the first built from the ground up, this six-story hotel stands at the corner of Blue Back Square — a contemporary translation of old-world hotel tradition with a sandstone base and canted roof that reads as if it's been there for decades. The lobby opens through full-height windows onto the street, with generous places to sit, work, and watch the square come to life. Ground-floor restaurant, bar, ballroom, and spa activate three sides of the building, turning the intersection into an urban room. Where the Greenwich and Southport Delamar properties are low-slung and country club in character, West Hartford is vertical, urban, and built to anchor a mixed-use district. Business travelers from the Hartford insurance corridor fill the lobby on weekday mornings; weekends bring a different crowd entirely.
