 Delta Hotel - Burlington

Delta Hotel - Burlington

South Burlington, VT

Delta Burlington by Marriott converted a Hilton DoubleTree into a contemporary Marriott brand property through a complete makeover of all guestrooms and suites, lobby, restaurant, ballroom, and porte-cochere. SBA led a full consultant team — coordinating the work in phases while the hotel remained in operation.

The building's history of piecemeal additions had left its public spaces disconnected. The lobby, restaurant, and gathering areas operated in isolation, with no visual or spatial relationship to one another. The renovation addresses this directly: a new large portal opens the existing wall between lobby and restaurant, giving arriving guests an immediate line-of-sight through to the bar. The arrival experience and the social heart of the hotel are no longer separate rooms.

At the street, the original porte-cochere — a shallow, dark gable on a north-facing entry — was replaced with a Kalwall translucent shed-roof canopy that completes the contemporary recladding of the facade. The canopy washes the drop-off in soft ambient daylight and glows warmly from below at night.

Delta's flexible brand standards for exterior and public spaces created room to work. SBA collaborated with Marriott to develop an aesthetic calibrated to the Burlington market — locally grounded, brand-consistent, and competitive.
